Grade 10 students embodied excellence in entrepreneurship this January 2023 at their Business Simulation for TLE 10. They enthusiastically served from Mondays to Wednesdays, at the ESS-South Activity Area. Each week, a different section conducted their Business Simulation. On Mondays and Tuesdays, Grade 10 students opened their food carts to Setonians on campus. Meanwhile, on Wednesdays, they held a fine dining event open to all Setonians, alumni, and outsiders.

The first to conduct their Business Simulation was Grade 10 Imus. They named it “The Imus Family,” as inspired by the franchise of “The Addams Family.” On January 9 and 10, they opened The Imus Family food cart, serving specialty rice meals, snacks, and beverages. On January 11, the “Wednesday Rave’n” fine dining was held from 4:30 to 7:00 pm.

Next, Grade 10 Kawit held their Business Simulation named “KawiTreats,” serving nostalgic street food. On January 15 and 16, they served at their food carts which offered street food, pins and stickers, and a dedication feature. Then, last January 17, they held their fine dining event entitled “Indak: Sumabay sa Musika” from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Lastly, Grade 10 Noveleta opened “NOVE Me Tangere,” inspired by Jose Rizal’s novel, “Noli Me Tangere.” The students of Grade 10 Noveleta served Filipino food and beverages in their food cart on January 23 and 24. Finally, last January 25, they held the “Las Islas Noveleta,” a fine dining event, from 4:30 to 7:00 pm.

This year’s Business Simulation was the first to be held in-person since the pandemic. Ms. She Canuday, the Grade 10 TLE teacher, said that the difference between this year’s business simulation and the business simulation held pre-pandemic is that “for this school year, we applied the hybrid set-up of simulating business. Learners were engaged in more fun, knowledgeable, and productive business simulation activity applying the concepts of setting up a food cart business with the integration of eCommerce in which decision-making and teamwork skills were exercised and built.“
