ESS Excellence in A.Y. 2022-2023 School Fair: QuintESSence

Hearts, romance, and the different variations of love weren’t the only things celebrated this Valentine’s month as Elizabeth Seton School-South (ESS-South) celebrates “QuintESSence: Epitome of Strength and Success” in the A.Y. 2022-2023 School Fair. The three-day event, which took place from February 9 to 11, 2023, was filled with various activities that aim to “develop deeper connections with the other members of the ESS community as well as foster memorable bonding moments with our families.”

Thursday, February 9. The first day of this momentous event commenced with an Institutional Holy Mass which was attended by Grades 3 to 6 and High School Students. Then, a parade that showcased the creative stylings of the learners as they strolled through the campus in their silver-bedazzled outfits, paying homage to the 25 years of Setonian excellence that ESS-South followed. The parade led the students to the Catherine Seton Square, where the kick-off program hosted by Sir Path Tacbad and Ms. Bianca Palmero took place. The opening prayer was led by the Senyas Club, and the national anthem was led by the Setonian Madrigals. There were two significant announcements declared during this ceremony: the History Wall of Elizabeth Seton School, now to be seen in the Reception Lobby and the walkway along the Swimming Pool Area, was officially unveiled, and the formal launch of the Solar Panel Project in Seton’s partnership with Vivant COREnergy Incorporated, signifying that the campus’ primary source of power is now through the use of solar panels. The festive performance of the General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School Drum & Lyre Band and the announcement of winners for the Best Dressed Section per Division was met with lively cheer and applause from Setonians as the kick off ceremony came to a close. 

Friday, February 10. The second day of the school fair was met with vivid colors and blaring music as SAYAW 2023 (Indak Setonian), a Field Demonstration performed by learners from Primary and Grade School Divisions, took place. As part of the Physical Education program, this Field Demonstration aims to “holistically develop the Setonians while showcasing their talents through dancing.” On this day, performances from Kindergarten (morning session) students and Grades 5-6 were witnessed by invited parents, guardians, and fellow Setonians. Aside from this, a Talent Show sponsored by the Family Council also occurred. “Silverrific Setonians: A Showcase of Talents” was a fundraising event which aimed to inspire talent among Setonian learners and raise funds for the Family Council’s sponsorship in different school activities, and fund the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter installation in all the airconditioning units of all the classrooms in ESS-South. A Sumobot Competition among selected Grades 4 and 6 learners also took place along with the High School Valorant Competition between the different Houses as led by the Information and Communications Technology and Robotics Department.

Saturday, February 11. The Indak Setonian Field Demonstration continued as the Batch 2 participants showcased their talents in their lively performances and were met with tremendous applause from their audiences. The performers included learners from Nursery & Kindergarten (afternoon session), and Grades 1, 2, 3, and 4. On the same day, the Basketball and Volleyball Unity games in which selected High School House Members and ESS employees got the chance to exhibit the Setonian qualities of respect, focus, and collaboration. Finally, the event that closed the three-day occasion was the QuintESSence Night, a School Fair Night event that was hosted and made possible by the Supreme Student Council. The gathering consisted of two main programs: a Setonian Live Concert and a Cosplay Contest, in which the students were able to display their creativity, talent, and passion in a night that aims to bring the Setonian community together in camaraderie.

Throughout the three-day event, Setonians made the most out of the time allotted within the day by exploring and experiencing the different booths and fun rides provided by the Elizabeth Seton School – Faculty and Staff Empowerment Collegiality Council and the different High School Houses.

ESS-South has undergone yet another successful school fair event, one that has manifested the quintessence of the 25 years it celebrates.
